Mind Over Matter Does Not Work

This is a written summary of my latest video, for those that prefer to read than watch.  If you’d prefer to watch, you can find the video here.

Something really interesting happened when I posted about my belief that “mind over matter” does not work.

I got responses that it does work, and I’d love to hear how it works.  I did ask for an example of how it works, and….crickets!  My theory is that no one really had any examples, because it doesn’t work!

You mind can only act in a way that aligns with what you believe.  In other words, your reality doesn’t really change because you THINK about changing.  It’s just not the first step.  If “mind over matter” worked, would we all be the weight we want to be?  Wouldn’t we all have all the money we want?

If you want to create a different reality, you have to BELIEVE that you’re the person who’s already living that reality.  If you want to lose weight, believe you are ALREADY the person who is living at their optimal weight.  THEN, your brain will take actions that align with the belief that you area already at your optimal weight.  That might including eating healthier foods or eating less of it.  But, until you BELIEVE that you’re already that person who is at an optimal weight, your brain doesn’t know what actions to take.  It will keep doing what it has already been doing.  Does that make sense?

If you have an example of mind of matter working, I’d love to hear it.  I’d really love to see an example — just one.  Until then, I will continue to say that mind over matter simply does NOT work.

All my life, no matter what change I’ve experienced, I’ve been able to use journaling to remember who I am, begin to understand what I can learn from this change, and how my experience can help other people going through something similar.  Get my free prompts, “Journaling for Answers,” and start finding your own answers within.
