I’m sure if you’ve been following me you’d like to ask what’s the next step after you remember who you are. Well, I have a question for you. Are you a human BEing or a human DOing? We all consider ourselves human beings, but are we? I mean, most of us spend our whole lives DOing things we think will help us get ahead in life, achieve the goals we (or our family or society) have set for ourselves, and just staying busy. That’s what we’ve seen modeled for us, right? But, that’s only part of the equation. If we are, in fact, human beings, shouldn’t we just BE sometimes? You really need a balance of action and inaction, of introspection and expression.
It took time sitting in stillness to remember who you are, but the power of stillness doesn’t end once you remember. Keep moving into stillness and your next steps will become clear.
BE the person you are and want to be, and you will automatically DO the things that person would do. It really is that simple.
So, next time you’re making a long to-do list, stop yourself. Take a couple of deep breaths, and remind yourself you are NOT a human DOing. You are a human BEing, and get busy BEing.
